Plant genomics in Denmark is supported by broad programmes for biotechnology and food technology. Five universities and two national laboratories are involved in plant genomics, involving 121 researchers and 47 PhD students. The projects are funded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries as well as through competitive funding by the Research Councils. The Danish Agriculture and Veterinary Research Council are preparing a coordinated national programme in plant genomics as part of the priority theme ‘The new potential of biology’. The active plant genomics groups have established the Danish Agro-Genomics Research Organization (DANGRO) for exchange of information and coordination.
DASTI has currently observer status in ERA-PG.
