About DFG
The DFG funds the Arabidopsis Functional Genomics
Network (AFGN) with an annual budget of EUR 2 million. AFGN, the largest initiative
within the DFG plant
genomics programme, is in its first three-year funding period and is expected
to run until 2010. It is tightly linked with the "2010 Project: To Determine
the Function of 25,000 Genes in Arabidopsis thaliana by the Year 2010" of
the National Science Foundation (USA). Several other coordinated research programmes
in the area of plant functional genomics, each established for a 6-year period,
receive funding of EUR 4 Million/year in total.
